Haji Abdullah Safri is the keroncong musician who has "discovered" Jamilah as a young and potential keroncong singer. Hj. Abdullah was a jury at Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya Keroncong Competition in 2005. He saw a young 10 years old girl was barred from entering the competition just because she was very young. He took the initiative to allow Jamilah to sing at the competition as a guest singer. The reaction from the floor was fantastic. He said this young girl could easily be the champion if she were to be allowed to enter the competition.
Hj Abdullah Safri then continues to train Jamilah and make performance at the UKM Covocations since 2006
